The 66th General Assembly of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) was held in Madrid from 4-9 October 2025, with representatives of the Institute participating during the main program days (6-9). The event was organised by the National Institute for Educational Assessment of Spain (INEE) and brought together delegates from IEA member countries, researchers, and decision-makers in the field of education.
At the most significant gathering of experts and policy-makers in educational evaluation, participants actively discussed the use of results from studies such as TIMSS, PIRLS, ICILS, and others, exchanged good practices, and explored new approaches in education policy.
Special attention was given to the presentations of the recipients of the IEA Research and Development Award, whose findings highlight the critical role of evaluation in improving education worldwide.
The conclusions of the Assembly clearly emphasise that international cooperation, methodological innovation, and continuous professional development of experts are essential for the future of education.
Тhe next 67th IEA General Assembly will be held in Warsaw in 2026.
