Оn 16 March 2026, the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation carried out a working visit to the National Council of the Rusyn National Minority in Ruski Krstur. 

The delegation included Acting Director Prof. Dr Boris Stojkovski, Deputy Director and Research Associate Assoc. Prof. Dr Milan Gromovic and Martina Bosnjak, Associate in the Director’s Office. The delegation met with the President of the National Council, Stevan Samocet, Chair of the Education Committee, Senka Mucenski, and Chair of the Committee for Official Use of Language and Script, as well as President of Matic Rusyn, Prof. Dr Mihajlo Fejsa. 

During the meeting, a number of key topics were discussed, with particular emphasis on the organisation and further improvement of the final exam (matura) in the Rusyn language, which is one of the eight minority languages in which the exam is conducted in Serbia. It was agreed to continue joint work on improving the quality of test papers and tasks, alongside an initiative to ensure additional language proofreading support for all materials translated into Rusyn. 

Representatives of the Institute also informed their hosts about the forthcoming publication of collections of past final exam papers, expressing the expectation that these will soon be made available in the languages of national minorities, including Rusyn. 

The Institute remains committed to strengthening cooperation with national councils, to improve the quality of education in all languages of instruction and support the multicultural character of Serbia’s education system
