The first meeting of the National Platform for Digital Inclusion initiative was held in Belgrade on 24 November 2025. The Platform was established within the regional project Digital Inclusion Initiative, implemented with the financial support of the European Union. Its aim is to bring together key stakeholders and contribute to the systematic development of policies and practices that ensure equitable access to digital technologies and the opportunities they offer. In Serbia, digital inclusion is recognised as a cross-sectoral priority.
The meeting featured presentations on the Platform’s mandate and objectives, as well as the planned activities within the project. Participants were also introduced to the National Report for Serbia – a baseline document providing a comprehensive overview of the state of digital inclusion and identifying key challenges and areas for improvement.

Indicators of digital inclusion show that the barriers affecting vulnerable groups are not only technological in nature, but are also linked to poverty, low levels of education, geographic isolation, and discrimination.
A constructive discussion followed, focusing on elaborating the report’s recommendations and defining priorities for the Platform’s work in the next phases of the project. Participants agreed on a framework for further cooperation and potential joint initiatives that will contribute to strengthening digital inclusiveness in Serbia.
The inaugural meeting marks th
e beginning of continuous dialogue and partnership among organisations, institutions, and experts, including the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation.
