On Monday, September 8, 2025, the new Springer publication, Dinaric Perspectives on PIRLS 2021, was officially presented in the ceremonial hall of the Stari Grad Municipality Assembly in Belgrade.

The event was attended by eminent experts from the IEA, as well as both domestic and foreign authors. On behalf of the mayor, Councilor Nenad Vujović addressed the attendees, highlighting the importance of collaboration between educational and scientific institutions, as well as successful individuals. He expressed the city municipality’s readiness to support such high-quality initiatives.

Following the opening remarks, the director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Boris Stojkovski, officially opened the gathering. On behalf of the Institute, he reflected on the success of the new edition and the professional achievements of the domestic authors from the Institute, Elizabeta Karalić and Danijela Đukić.

Christian Christrup Kjeldsen from Denmark, the IEA Chair, addressed the audience on behalf of the IEA. He presented the new edition and simultaneously announced an equally successful project, which is the result of the collaboration between the IEA team, the Institute, and the publishing house Springer.

Two new Springer publications, Putting PIRLS to use in Classrooms Across the Globe and Teaching Reading Comprehension in a Digital World, adapted, edited, and translated into Serbian, were also announced. They will soon be published on the Institute’s website. Danijela Đukić and Srđan Zrnić, as well as Miroslav Jovanović, Stefan Jerić, and Veselin Žižić, all contributed to this significant project by the IEA and the Institute for Educational Quality and Evaluation.
