The online self-evaluation tool for social inclusion, Stessie, developed through Erasmus+ projects with the participation of the Institute of Education Quality and Evaluation, is available to schools in Serbia to support assessment and improvement of inclusive educational practice. It is a digital tool that enables schools to systematically review their own policies, culture, and practice, with the aim of ensuring quality education for all students.
STESSIE was created within the Erasmus+ projects BIBESOIN (2018-2021) and STESSIE (2022-2025), as a result of cooperation among a multidisciplinary international team consisting of evaluators, inspectors, school principals, teachers, advisers, and researchers. The Institute’s team took part in designing and improving the instrument in line with its role in developing the system for evaluating the quality of education in Serbia.
The primary purpose of the tool is to support schools in the process of self-evaluation, with a particular focus on enhancing participation and learning opportunities for all students, including those from vulnerable groups. The use of the tool enables schools to identify strengths and areas for further development, which serves as the basis for the planning measures to improve the quality of education.
Stessie is designed as a support instrument that respects the autonomy of schools and existing evaluation mechanisms, encouraging professional reflection and the development of inclusive practice. At the same time, it has been developed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring the security and confidentiality of users’ data.
The Institute’s involvement in the development of this tool is part of activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of the education system and improving the quality of education through the application of modern approaches to evaluation.
