As part of regular activities, Dr Milan Gromović, Deputy Director of the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, visited the School Administration Office, the Regional Centre for the Professional Development of Education Employees, as well as the Mechanical and Traffic Engineering School and the Science and Technology Park in Čačak.
On that occasion, during the presentation of new educational profiles and activities of the Mechanical and Traffic Engineering School, Dr Gromović emphasised that the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation continuously supports innovation in education, particularly in the field of dual and vocational secondary education.
“It is extremely important that we contribute and keep pace with modern developments, connecting industry and schools, that is, the education system,” he stressed.
He also recalled that the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation, in cooperation with the Office for Dual Education, is developing a platform that will contribute to higher-quality evaluation of dual education and the further development of the strategy behind this educational model.
“We are developing a concept that is close to the Swiss model, yet adapted to the needs of the national economy, as well as to the capacities and capabilities of our education system,” Gromović pointed out.

During the visit, discussions also focused on the need for stronger networking among vocational secondary schools, industry, local institutions, and the Ministry of Education, as well as on the importance of cooperation with institutions engaged in improving and evaluating education.
According to Dr Gromović, the key steps in the further development of vocational secondary education include the creation of modern educational profiles, the improvement of curricula, and the strengthening of schools’ spatial, technical and human resource capacities.
