On Friday, 23 January, at 11 a.m., a press conference was held at the premises of the Journalists’ Association of Serbia, organised by the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation and the publishing company Privredni pregled. On this occasion, the task collections for the final exam at the end of primary education for the 2025/2026 school year were presented. The collections were published at a record early date, approximately ten days before the planned deadline.

For many years, the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation has been printing and publishing final exam task collections in cooperation with Prosvetni pregled. This year as well, eighth-grade pupils are provided with tasks designed for thorough and systematic preparation, both within school-based preparatory classes and through independent study.

Pupils preparing for the final exam, which represents a key transition from primary to secondary education, can use task collections in Serbian or their respective mother tongue, mathematics, and the elective test. The elective test includes tasks from history, geography, biology, physics, and chemistry.

To ensure that primary school pupils in Serbia have sufficient time to prepare for the upcoming final exam at their own pace, the collections have been available for sale since Friday, 23 January. They can be purchased at the Official Gazette and in the Institute for Textbooks bookshops, and other well-stocked bookstores. Schools and other legal entities may order the collections directly from Prosvetni pregled by calling 011 334 08 25.

This publishing initiative comprises a total of 27 titles, as the collections have been printed in Serbian and in eight languages of national minorities. The collections for mother tongue and mathematics each contain 450 tasks, structured across basic, intermediate, and advanced levels in line with educational achievement standards. The combined collections contain 600 tasks covering all five subject areas of the elective test. Solutions to all tasks are provided in the final sections of each publication.

The primary purpose of the collections is to familiarise pupils with the task formats they will encounter in the June final exam, and to enable independent practice, classroom-based preparation, and knowledge assessment.
Approximately one hundred teachers and professors from primary, secondary and higher education institutions participated in the development of the tasks, ensuring a high level of quality across all relevant criteria. Their professional experience guarantees alignment with teaching practice, curricula, and educational achievement standards. In addition, the collections were reviewed by respected experts in their respective fields.

The Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation also oversees the process of developing and preparing the tasks for the final exam tests. In this context, the task collections and test collections are methodologically aligned with the final exam and constitute an essential component of preparing primary school pupils for the next, secondary, stage of education.

The total price for all three collections is 2,300 dinars. Individually, the Serbian or mother tongue collection costs 880 dinars, while the mathematics collection and the combined collection are priced at 715 dinars each.
Collections of tests from previous final exams are also in preparation, allowing pupils additional opportunities to assess their knowledge and further strengthen their preparation through repeated testing.
