In line with its mandate and responsibilities entrusted by the Ministry, the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation continues to strengthen cooperation with school administrations across Serbia. With this aim, a delegation of the Institute visited the Novi Sad School Administration. The delegation was received by Milan Grujin, Head of the Novi Sad School Administration, and Dr Predrag Vajagic, Education Advisor and Research Associate. The Institute’s delegation consisted of Acting Director Prof. Dr Boris Stojkovski; Deputy Director Dr Milan Gromovic, Assistant Professor and Research Associate; and Assistant Director and Head of the Examination Centre at the Institute, Dragana Stojanovic.

The central topic of discussion was the ongoing preparations for the implementation of the final exam at the end of primary education. The hosts informed the Institute’s representatives about the progress of all related activities within the territory covered by the Novi Sad School Administration. Both sides emphasised their shared commitment to ensuring full compliance with all procedures related to the final exam and investing maximum effort so that this important process proceeds smoothly and is successfully completed.

The meeting also addressed ways to further improve preparations for the final exam in the future, from the Institute’s perspective, as well as in terms of better supporting students, teachers, and the school system as a whole. Particular attention was given to enhancing education and the administration of the final exam in the languages of national minorities, as the exam in this school administration is taken in several mother tongues.

In addition to the final exam, the discussion also covered the evaluation of the quality of educational institutions within the Novi Sad School Administration, both through external evaluation and through other potential joint activities. The participants also explored opportunities to further strengthen cooperation regarding the participation of schools from this territory in various international and national research studies conducted by the Institute.
